System requirements

  • macOS 13 Ventura or later.
  • Apple Silicon or Intel — the two builds are separate downloads and do not substitute for each other.
  • A network connection: sign-in and model calls go through genduo.ai, so the app keeps no model key of its own.

Install

  1. Open the disk image and drag genduo into Applications.
  2. Launch it and sign in. Everything it needs runs locally after that.

Updates

  1. genduo checks for updates ten seconds after launch, then every six hours; About also has a manual check.
  2. Downloads run in the background. Restarting is your call — it warns you about running tasks and terminals, and closing the app never installs anything silently.

Windows

Not available yet. The Windows build exists in the source tree, but the installer is not code-signed and no Windows release has been published, so there is nothing to download here today.

Questions

Do I need an account?

Yes. Sign-in, model calls and billing live on genduo.ai, so the app itself stores no model key. If you bring your own provider key instead, it is kept on this Mac.

Where does my work live?

Sessions, memory and uploads are written to ~/.genduo on this Mac. The files genduo edits are your own files, changed in place.

How do I remove it?

Drag Genduo out of Applications. What it stored under ~/.genduo stays there until you delete it yourself.
